Guide Dogs
The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association would like a world in which all people who are blind or partially sighted enjoy the same rights, opportunities and responsibilites as everyone else.
Once someone has lost their sight, a guide dog can give back a degree of freedom and independance.
Guide dogs began by using German Shepards as guides, while they are still used today, the breeds more commonly used by the charity are Golden retrievers and Labradors and first crosses of those.
There is of course exceptions to this and other breeds have made the grade of becoming a guide dog............One of those being the Leonberger
